How’s everyone doing this morning?
I’m in a body shop waiting room right now for a minor repair to my work van. A couple months ago it was parked on the street and some knob end hit it. Of course, they didn’t leave a note, but fortunately they managed to only slightly hit the bumper. They tore up the little plastic end cap on the driver’s side, shown here:
The part itself costs less than $100 and because the shop screwed up on my previous appointment they’re waiving the labor charge. It should only take about half an hour anyway. The guy who hit it got the worst of it, judging by the pile of broken headlight plastic on the ground behind it. So, all is how it should be.
Also, I'm on vacation WOOOOOO!!!

Plastic bodywork is a good thing!
My morning’s going well! It’s 36° F here in SoCal this morning though, so I can’t drive my MR2 with its summer tires.
What’re your car plans for your vacation?

all good here aside from some drama from the nimbys
about to go pick up some fresh fish for dinner (im thinking tilapia)
and then its time for my nightshift

Our high today will be three degrees above that, LOL. But it’ll be sunny, so that makes it ok.
I’m planning on going for a nice drive today in the mountains with a cup of coffee and a cigar, and I’ll probably wash it afterwards. The Cube is going to hit 70k today.

I’ve needed this break for a while. I really love my job, but the fourth quarter of last year was grueling. And I just got over a cold so I’m feeling much better.

Pretty good here. Found out what my annual bonus is going to be. It’s non-trivial. Most of my senior leadership is out of the office, so things are fairly quiet.

I’m supposed to get some sort of bonus, but I'm afraid we'll end up having to save it for taxes. Hopefully you get to do something fun with yours.

Because I feel that a git would have left a note. It would just say “sorry I hit your van, LOL” but it would have been something.
